I saw his impatience and lack of self-control when it came to Yuna and I became more understanding. And this makes sense bc he really didn't have a teacher-figure after losing all his connections after the attack at the Institute. Honestly at first, I thought him to be like a young kid and didn't really like him. Koku is honest, slightly dark, innocent and a little immature. One moment I remember really well in Season 2 is when Keith is speaking with Erika and Gilbert and there's music playing in the background as he shuffles through his memories trying to remember what promise he made and the music suddenly STOPS as it flashes back to a scene with Lily and her love of bakeries (: The music wasn't overdone, didn't try to hard to be the typical Japanese rock-esque style and I really enjoyed the eerie female vocalizations because I could associate it to Greek legends. The art is really well done and I could definitely tell bc I'd be grimacing without meaning to when seeing certain graphic scenes or admiring how Lake Lenan kind of looks like how some rivers in India would look like during the Diwali Festival. I know for some viewers that this was a detractor but if you take a few steps back you can actual see how the stories of Koku and Keith are interconnected and I think that accomplishing this is no easy feat for any author. I usually try 3 episodes before deciding whether or not to continue and it was definitely worth it because by the third episode, all important characters were introduced and I was hooked by the two plot lines going because it constantly kept me on my toes. First episode was mildly interesting, I thought it would originally be about a human serial killer (which it kind of was but not in the way that I expected it to be). So season 1: I was super delayed in watching it but binged season 1 last night over the span of 5 hours (I really do enjoy listening to OSTs). This post will be extremely detailed and contain spoilers from both season 1 and 2. I'd like to comment on season 1 and slightly on season 2. It's best to just sit back and watch it as I did, but I always want to know everything and make sense of it so it was kind of hard to let that one go.I just made a reddit account a few minutes ago to write about this. I think if this anime was 26 episodes instead of 12 it could have been stronger, and not so rushed in the explanations and motives which is all jumbled up. It's all very messy and didn't come together convincingly enough for me. Then there is some secret group of Reji's or something that want something from Koku (in the end we find out that it was a Reji that got manipulated by Gilbert, somehow). Also the antagonists weren't really convincing, there are the 'failed' experiments or deliberate successes to make soldiers named 'Reji' whom need some sort of gold liquid to not go utterly insane, but will go insane anyway (I still don't fully get this Reji concept). I am sure this series will get a season 2, but for me storylines that get too crowded or messy I prefer to see it a bit more spread out so we can really bond with the characters. As it is very fast-paced and as different storylines intertwine, I also still have a lot of questions about the royal family whom we didn't get to see during this series.
